Jenn and her 12-year-old cane corso, Terra, training for canine musical freestyle competitions

Jenn Michaelis

BA, CPDT-KA, RFE-CI

Jenn helps people understand, teach, and enjoy their dogs — especially when things feel messy, confusing, or harder than expected.

With over 25 years of experience training dogs in Montana, New York, and Oregon, Jenn brings a combination of deep behavior knowledge, practical coaching, humor, and compassion to her work. She teaches people how to raise socially-savvy puppies, build reliable real-life manners, support anxious or reactive dogs, and explore sports and enrichment in a way that feels good for both ends of the leash.

Her training is rooted in fear-free, force-free methods, with an emphasis on emotional wellbeing, clear communication, and realistic support for real life.

Jenn’s specialties include puppy raising, mediating play, reactivity, cooperative care, nosework, musical freestyle, and helping humans feel less alone when their dog is struggling.

Jenn has shared her home with an eclectic crew of dogs — including a Pomeranian, Lab mix, Akita/Shepherd mix, Cane Corso, Chinese Crested, and Beagle — and each one has shaped the way she teaches. Her own dogs have taught her about resilience, big feelings, humor, aging, competition pressure, and the importance of training the dog in front of you.

When she’s not teaching at Wonder Dogs, Jenn can usually be found hiking or shopping with her beagle, riding her shire horse at Bald Hill, salsa dancing, or tending to her houseplants.

Adam and his 4-year-old terrier mix, Isolde “Izzy”, and his 9-year-old Great Pyrenees Alsundaire “Bear”

Adam Carver Stellmon

Business manager

BFA

Adam joined Wonder Dogs when he realized that getting a dog for his dog wasn’t quite working out how he wanted. Now he’s hooked! Adam helps run the office and support the trainers, ensuring we are always at our best. His warmth and generous personality is an asset to our fear-free and positive-reinforcement-based training facility, where we believe humans deserve the same patience and understanding that we give dogs. Greeting puppies, mediating playtime, and playing with his dogs on the agility equipment are his favorite perks of the job.
